February 28, 2015 - Sefton Barrett of the London Lightning

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Sefton Barrett has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 28, 2015. This is the second time this season that a player has earned Player of the Week honours after starting the season with a different team; Brent Jennings is the only other player this season to have earned this award.

Barrett, a 6'8" 215 small forward who played collegiately at Central Michigan, was instrumental in the London Lightning's four wins in the final week of the season, including a three-night, three-game road trip in the Maritimes. He finished with 31 points in London's regular season finale, a home win against Mississauga.

February 22, 2015 - Tyshwan Edmondson of the Brampton A's

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Tyshwan Edmondson of the Brampton A's has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 22, 2015. This is the second time this season that a Brampton player has earned this honour; Brent Jennings also received this award during his time with the team.

Edmondson, a 6'3" small forward who played collegiately at Austin Peay University, averaged 20 points in two Brampton victories, and helped the A's move into the second seed of the NBL's Central Division.

February 15, 2015 - Marvin Phillips of the London Lightning

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Marvin Phillips of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 15, 2015. This is Phillips' third honour this season in this category.

Phillips, a 6'7", 235-pound forward who played his collegiate ball at Claflin (South Carolina) College, scored 31 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in a 92-91 London victory over the division-leading Windsor Express.

February 8, 2015 - Kevin Young of the Halifax Rainmen

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Kevin Young of the Halifax Rainmen has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 8, 2015. This is the second consecutive week in which Young has earned this honour.

Young, a 6'8" forward who played collegiately at Kansas, helped Halifax win two games by averaging 24.5 points per game and 13 rebounds per game. One of the wins was a 124-99 victory over the defending champion Windsor Express on Sunday afternoon.

February 1, 2015 - Kevin Young of the Halifax Rainmen

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Kevin Young of the Halifax Rainmen has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 1, 2015.


Young, a 6'8" forward who played collegiately at Kansas, dominated with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists in Halifax's 103-101 win over the Moncton Miracles on Sunday afternoon.

January 25, 2015 - Warren Ward of the Mississauga Power

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Warren Ward of the Mississauga Power has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 25, 2015. This is the first time that a player from the Mississauga Power has received this honour.

Ward, a 6'6" guard who played collegiately at the University at Ottawa, averaged 26 points in two games for the Power, including notching 28 points in a 114-85 victory over Halifax that helped end an eleven-game Power losing streak.

January 18, 2015 - Johnny Mayhane of the Saint John Mill Rats

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Johnny Mayhane of the Saint John Mill Rats is the Player of the Week for the week ending January 18, 2015. This is the second time in three weeks that a Mill Rats player has earned this honour.

Mayhane, a 6'5" 195 forward who played colleagiately at Tulane, averaged 27 points and in two Mill Rats victories this week, including scoring the majority of the points in the overtime period of Saint John's 123-117 win on January 15 over Moncton.

January 11, 2015 - Quinnel Brown of the Windsor Express

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Quinnel Brown of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 11, 2015. This is the second time that Brown has won the award this year; he last won it on December 7, and was the most recent Windsor Express player to earn this honour.


Brown, a 6'6", 210-pound forward from Auburn, averaged 27 points in two Windsor Express victories this week, including scoring 30 in a 104-90 victory Thursday night against Brampton, and achieving 24 points and 8 rebounds in a 124-112 home win Saturday night over Saint John.

January 4, 2015 - Kenny Jones of the Saint John Mill Rats

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Kenny Jones of the Saint John Mill Rats has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 4, 2015. This is the first time this season that a member of the Mill Rats has earned this honour.

Jones, a 6'6" 215-pound power forward who played collegiately at Kentucky State, averaged 21.6 points per game in three contests this week, helping Saint John go 2-1 during that period. He also scored 40 points in the Mill Rats' 129-111 New Year's Day victory over Moncton.

This is the second time in Jones' career that he has claimed the Player of the Week honour; he previously won it for the week ending March 17, 2013.

December 28th, 2014 - Marvin Phillips of the London Lightning

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Marvin Phillips of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 28,2014. This is the second time that Phillips has won this award this year, and the fourth time in his career that he has picked up this honour.


Phillips, a 6'7", 235-pound forward who played his collegiate ball at Claflin College, scored 23 points, pulled down 19 rebounds and blocked two shots in London’s Saturday night 118-109 triumph over the Brampton A’s.

December 21st, 2014 - Brent Jennings of the Brampton A's

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Brent Jennings of the Brampton A's has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 21, 2014. This is the first time that a Brampton A's player has earned this honour this season.

Jennings, a 6'4", 200-pound point guard from Southern Polytechnic State University (Georgia), averaged 25 points per game in two Brampton A's victories this week. He was also the leading scorer for the A's in both wins.

December 14th, 2014 - Emmanuel Little of the London Lightning

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Emmanuel Little of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 14, 2014. This is the third Lightning player to receive Player of the Week honours this season.

Little, a 6'5" 200-pound shooting guard from North Dakota, averaged 19 points in two wins for the Lightning; he also recorded four steals in one victory over the Mississauga Power on December 13; two days earlier, he recorded a double-double that included 18 points and 10 rebounds.

December 7th, 2014 - Quinnel Brown of the Windsor Express

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Quinnel Brown of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 7, 2014. This is the second time that Brown has earned this honour; he previously earned the award two years ago this very week, when he was a member of the Halifax Rainmen.

Brown, a 6'6" 210-pound forward from Auburn University, averaged a double-double of 21.5 points and 15 rebounds in two games for the Express this week. His big game included a 20-rebound achievement in Windsor's 131-120 win over the London Lightning on Friday, December 5.

November 30th, 2014 - Rashad Whack of the Island Storm

The National Basketball League of Canada is leased to announce that Rashad Whack of the Island Storm has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 30, 2014. This is the second time that a Storm player has received this award this season.

Whack, a 6'3" guard who played collegiately at Mount St. Mary's, averaged 21 points in two games for the Island Storm, helping the PEI team win both games, en route to appearing atop the NBL Canada's Atlantic Division standings.

November 23rd, 2014 - Brandon Robinson of the Island Storm

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Brandon Robinson of the Island Storm has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 23rd, 2014. This is the third time that Robinson has earned this honour in his NBL playing career.

Robinson, a 6'5", 185-pound guard who played collegiately at Clayton State (Georgia), averaged a double-double in two Island Storm wins this week. In those games, he averaged 25.5 points and 12 rebounds in those victories.

November 16th, 2014 - Zane Johnson of the London Lightning

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Zane Johnson of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 16th, 2014. This is the second time this season in which a Lightning player has earned this honour; Marvin Phillips previously won the award earlier this month.

Johnson, a 6'6" guard who played collegiately at the University of Hawaii, averaged 18.3 points per game in three London victories this week; he also successfully completed a total of thirteen 3-point shots in those games.

November 9th, 2014 - Stanley Robinson of the Moncton Miracles

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Stanley Robinson of the Moncton Miracles has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 9th, 2014. This is the second time in his NBL career that Robinson has received this honour.

Robinson, a 6'9", 220 forward who played his college ball at Connecticut, helped Moncton with 28 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots in the Miracles' 117-113 home victory over Halifax.

November 2nd, 2014 - Marvin Phillips of the London Lightning

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Marvin Phillips of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 2, 2014. This is the third time that Phillips has won the award; he won it twice in the 2012-13 season.

Phillips, a 6'7". 235-pound forward who played his collegiate ball at Claflin College, was instrumental in London's 99-97 victory over the Windsor Express. Phillips scored 35 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots in the victory.
