NBL CANADA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Week ending February 28, 2014

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Cavell Johnson of the Brampton A's has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 28, 2014. This is the second time Johnson has earned this award.

Johnson, a 6'9" centre who played collegiately at James Madison University averaged 19.5 points per game in four Brampton victories to close out the season.

NBL CANADA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Week ending February 23, 2014

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Garrett Williamson of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 23, 2014 This is the third time Williamson has received this honour.

Williamson, a 6'5" guard who played collegiately at St. Joseph's of Pennsylvania, averaged 26 points per game in three London victories. Those three games were played in front of three of the largest home crowds in NBL Canada history, including scoring 30 points in a league-record 7,396 in a 114-96 win over Brampton on February 17, 2014.

Justin Tubbs

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Justin Tubbs of the Ottawa Skyhawks has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 16, 2014. Tubbs is the first SkyHawks player to claim Player of the Week honours since Ryan Anderson did it in December of 2013.

Tubbs, a 6'3" guard who played collegiately at East Tennessee State, averaged 20 points and 6 rebounds in five Ottawa games this week, including four victories.

NBL CANADA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Week ending February 9, 2014

Stefan Bonneau

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Stefan Bonneau of the Windsor Express has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 9, 2014. This is the second time this season that Bonneau has earned this honour.

Bonneau, a 5'10" guard who played collegiately at C.W. Post, was the leading scorer in Windsor's two victories this week. He averaged 23 points and 4 assists in the victories, which helped the Express stay atop the NBL Canada's Central Division and brought the team closer to the #1 seed and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

NBL CANADA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Week ending February 2, 2014

Morgan Lewis

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Morgan Lewis of the Mississauga Power has been named Player of the Week for the week ending February 2, 2014. This is the first time that a player from the Mississauga Power has earned Player of the Week honours this season; Lewis last earned the award on November 18, 2012, as a member of the London Lightning.

Lewis, a 6'5 guard who played collegiately at Findlay, averaged 30 points in two games this week, including scoring 37 points (and going 14-for-15 from the free throw line) in a 118-102 Thursday victory against the Brampton A's.

Antonio Ballard

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Antonio Ballard of The Island Storm has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 26, 2014. This is the second time this season that Ballard has earned this honour.

Ballard, a 6'5" forward who played collegiately at Miami University (Ohio), averaged a double-double of 25.5 points per game and 14.5 rebounds per game in the Storm's two victories this week. His scoring was augmented with 32 points and 19 rebounds in a 115-104 home win against Moncton.

Week ending January 19, 2014

Anthony Anderson
The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Anthony Anderson of the Saint John Mill Rats has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 19, 2014. This is the third time Anderson has earned this honour, and he becomes the first NBL player to win the "Player of the Week" award in three consecutive seasons.

Anderson, a 5'11" guard who played collegiately at the University of Massachusetts, averaged 34.3 points, 7.3 assists and 2.3 steals in three Mill Rats games, including two victories, keeping the Mill Rats atop the NBL's Central Division.
Anderson is also the third player in NBL Canada history to earn Player of the Week honours three times; he joins Morgan Lewis and Gabe Freeman as three-time winners.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Garrett Williamson of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 12, 2014. This is the second time Williamson has earned this honour.

Williamson, a 6'5" guard who played collegiately at St. Joseph's (Pennsylvania), averaged 26 points per game in London's three victories this week, including scoring 36 points in London's Saturday night overtime win over the Island Storm.

Johnny Mayhane

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Johnny Mayhane of the Moncton Miracles has been named Player of the Week for the week ending January 5, 2014. Mayhane is the second Miracles player to earn the Player of the Week honour this season.

Mayhane, a 6'5" guard who played his college ball at Tulane University, averaged 19 points per game in four Moncton contests this week - all of them were Miracles victories. He also averaged nearly three 3-pointers per game.

Ryan Anderson

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Ryan Anderson of the Ottawa SkyHawks has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 29, 2013. This is the first player from the SkyHawks to receive this honour.

Anderson, a 6'5" forward who played collegiately at the University of Nebraska, averaged 24.6 points per game in three Ottawa contests, including two victories - one of which was a 115-108

win over the division-leading Brampton A's.

Garrett Williamson

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Garrett Williamson of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 22, 2013. Williamson is the first Canadian this year, and the second Lightning player this season, to claim “Player of the Week” accolades.

Williamson, a 6’5” guard who played collegiately at St. Joseph’s (Pennsylvania), led London in scoring in both the Lightning’s victories this week. He scored 18 points for London in a 108-90 victory Thursday night against Halifax; and on Sunday afternoon in a 98-90 win over Ottawa, he finished the night with 21 points.

Week ending December 15, 2013

Tim Parham

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Tim Parham of the Halifax Rainmen has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 15, 2013. This is the first time that a Halifax player has received this honour this year.

Parham, a 6'9" centre who played collegiately at Maryland-Eastern Shore, was instrumental in Halifax' three games, including the team's first two victories of the year. He averaged a double-double in those games, and led the league this week in rebounds (16.0 avg per game), as well as offensive rebounds (10.33 per game). He also had eight blocked shots in those three games.

Antonio Ballard

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Antonio Ballard of The Island Storm has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 8, 2013. This is the first time this season that a member of The Island Storm has received this honour.

Ballard, a 6'5" forward who played collegiately at Miami University (Ohio), averaged a double-double of 24.5 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per game in the Storm's two victories this week. He also capped the second win with a score - a steal - in the final 15 seconds to give the Storm a come-from-behind 108-107 win over the Halifax Rainmen on Sunday afternoon.

Elvin Mims

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Elvin Mims of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending December 1, 2013. Mims becomes the first player from the two-time defending NBL champion to earn the honour this year.

Mims, a 6’5” forward from Southern Mississippi, helped the Lightning earn their seventh straight win on Saturday night, when he scored 19 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in London’s 101-91 home victory over the Moncton Miracles.

Cavell Johnson

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Cavell Johnson of the Brampton A's has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 24, 2013. Johnson becomes the first player from the Central Division's first place team to earn this honour.

Johnson, a 6'9" centre from James Madison University, averaged 23.3 points per game in Brampton's last three games, all wins. He also had a season-high five blocked shots in Brampton's 124-87 win over the Ottawa SkyHawks.

Doug Herring Jr.

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Doug Herring Jr. of the Saint John Mill Rats has been named the NBL Canada Player of the Week for the week ending November 17, 2013. This is the first time Herring Jr has received this honour; he becomes the first Mill Rat to win this award since Kenny Jones earned the award on March 17, 2013.

Herring Jr., a 6'3" shooting guard from Utica (N.Y.) College, averaged 25.6 points in three games, all victories for the Mill Rats. His high-water mark came on Thursday night, when he wrecked the scoreboard with 39 points in a 117-90 win over Halifax, his scoring came on 14-for-20 shooting from the floor and 8-for-11 from the free throw line.

Stanley Robinson

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Moncton Miracles centre Stanley Robinson has been named Player of the Week for the week ending November 10, 2013.

Robinson, a 6'9" centre who played collegiately at the University of Connecticut, averaged nearly 20 points and 9 rebounds in three games for the Miracles, including two victories. His high mark included 24 points and 12 rebounds on Satuday night against the Saint John Mill Rats; then Robinson followed that effort up with a 20-point tally in an overtime win against Halifax.

Stefan Bonneau

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Windsor Express guard Stefan Bonneau has been named the NBL Canada Player of the Week for the week ending November 3, 2013. This is the first time a Windsor player has received this honour since December 30, 2012 (Chris Commons). Bonneau, a 5'10" guard from Long Island University (C.W. Post Campus), was instrumental in the Express' two wins to start the season. In those two victories, Bonneau averaged 30.5 points per game; he also had a game-high 17 assists in Windsor's home opening victory over the London Lightning.
