The London Lightning are off to the Central Division Finals after cruising to a 121-102 win over the Orangeville A’s, sweeping their series 3-0.
Royce White dominated, pouring in 30 points to lead all scorers and collecting 19 rebounds for the double-double.
Garrett Williamson added 29 points of his own.
The Lightning were the better all-around team for the majority of the game, failing to relinquish the lead. They shot 52.7 per cent on field goals and 45.5 per cent from three point range. They also made more trips to the charity stripe and had more rebounds than the depleted A’s team.
London led by 18 at halftime.
White could not be stopped in the paint, putting in 20 of his game-high 30 points in the third quarter. At one point, he was swung around by Slim Magee, only to throw the ball up on a circus shot and have it fall perfectly through the hoop.
So ends a series that saw the Lightning’s imposing offence scored more than 119 points per game, a continuation of their record-breaking regular season. The series clinching win marks their 11th in a row, having not lost since April 8.
London will now wait for the winner of the series between the KW Titans and the Windsor Express who play Wednesday night. The Express currently lead their series 2-0.
