Atlantic 1st Round Game 5: Storm 102 Riptide 96 (OT)

The Island Storm beat the Saint John Riptide 102-96 in overtime at Harbour Station on Tuesday to win the deciding game of the best-of-five Atlantic Division semi-final series.
Jahii Carson tallied 31 points and made seven three-pointers to power the Storm, while teammate Terry Thomas scored 21 and grabbed a game-high 12 boards Gabe Freeman was the Riptide's top scorer with 25 points, and Saint John's Anthony Anderson notched 14 points and led all players with 11 dimes.
Island shot .405 from the field while holding its opponents to just .370. Both teams hit 12 three-pointers.
After trailing 24-17 at the end of one quarter and going into the break down 45-43, the Storm surged ahead in the third quarter, going in front 70-64 with just 12 minutes to play. The home Riptide rallied in the fourth to force overtime with the score knotted 88-88 at the end of the regulation.
The Storm advance to the best-of-seven Atlantic Division final, where they will face the winner of the ongoing semi-final series between Halifax and Moncton. The Hurricanes currently lead Moncton 2-0, and will look to sweep aside the Miracles with a victory in Game 3 on Wednesday at Moncton Coliseum.
