St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions are pleased to officially announce the signing of guard Adam Wing.

Wing, a 6’4 guard will join the River Lions for his second season in the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) after his rights were acquired in a late September trade with the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans in exchange for future considerations.

Wing appeared in 41 games for the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans, registering 9.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 28.9 minutes per game during the 2016-17 season.

“Adam caught my attention when I watched him play last year. His ability to shoot and score the ball with his physical play on defense is a rarity,” commented Coach Raso. “Adam brings a year of NBL experience and is a product of great college and high school coaching. His energy and blue-collar play will be an expectation every day.”

A native of Kentucky, Wing spent his collegiate basketball career with the University of Evansville where he recorded 802 points, 446 rebounds, and 240 assists in 127 games over four seasons. Wing will look to continue his journey as a professional basketball player with the Niagara River Lions.

“I’m super excited to be coming back to the NBLC for my second professional season and even more excited to be part of the River Lions family,” stated Wing. “I love the culture that Coach Raso is trying to build and I can’t wait to get the season started!”

The River Lions are set to tip-off the season in less than a month when they host the London Lightning for the Home Opener on November 18th. Secure your tickets today by visiting Ticketmaster.ca or calling 289-273-5905.
